Obituary of John P. Miller

John P. Miller “Tank” a lifetime resident of Port Jervis, died on March 16, 2024 at home after a brief battle with cancer.  He was 59.

 

The son of the late Bill & Violet Miller, he was born on October 4, 1964 in Port Jervis. 

 

John owned and operated John P. Miller Contracting for many years.  John loved his Harley but certainly more and before motorcycles came his love for his children and pets. 

 

In addition to his parents John was predeceased in life by his sister Sharon Moore and grandson Will Miller.

 

He is survived by his life partner Valerie Green at home.  Beloved father of Layla & Clarice Miller at home, William Miller of Port Jervis and Megan Cassidy with her husband John of PA.   Stepfather of Jonathan Green of Bullville.  Cherished grandfather of Olivia, Keira, Jakob, Faye, Hannah, Seth, Lily and Sylvie.  Dear brother of Bonnie Scolza with her husband Bob of Greenville.  Uncle to Marissa Neuman, Miranda Maloney and several other nieces and nephews. 

 

Visitation Thursday 3/21 from 4 to 7:00PM at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home, 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771.  A private cremation will follow services at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford. 

 

In lieu of flowers John requested donations be made directly to Layla & Clarice Miller in an effort to foster their future formative education.  Donations may be sent to 9 South Culver Street Port Jervis NY 12771.
