Obituary of Ortha Gilmore Klischer

Ortha Gilmore Klischer of Milford died in her 100th year on January 8, 2024.  

The daughter of the late Chace and Jennie Gilmore she was born on July 7, 1923 in West Chester, PA. 

Ortha worked in her life as a Secretary for the US Goverment, serving under the Department of Health and Human Services.  She was a Covered Bridge enthusiast, and was a longtime member of the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA.  

In addition to her parents Ortha was predeceased in life by her husband George Klischer Jr., her son Sterling Klischer, brother Chace Gilmore (WWII), and her sister Thelma Gardner.  

She is survived by her son George A. Klischer III with his wife Mary, daughter Ortha A. Sosiewicz with her husband Stanley and daughter Darlene Norris.  Loving grandmother of eight and great grandmother of seven.  

A graveside service will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday January 13th, at the Green Mount Cemetery in West Chester, PA.
